Eduardo Gomes International Airport, also known as Manaus International Airport, is the main airport serving Manaus, the capital of the state of Amazonas in Brazil. It is the largest airport in the North Region of Brazil and is one of the busiest airports in the country. The airport is named after Air Marshal Eduardo Gomes, a Brazilian politician and military figure.
The airport was inaugurated in 1976 and has since undergone several expansions and renovations. The most recent expansion was completed in 2014, which increased the airport’s capacity to 13.5 million passengers per year.
